The DIS 2016 Welcome Reception will be held on Sunday 5th June 2016 in the spectacular Room 360 at the QUT Gardens Point Campus, featuring floor to ceiling glass windows with unsurpassed views of the city skyline including the Brisbane River, Kangaroo Point Cliffs and the City Botanic Gardens.
Conference Dinner
Tuesday, 7 June 2016, 6 – 9pm
Wandering Cooks, 1 Fish Lane (cnr Fish Lane & Cordelia St), South Brisbane
For the DIS 2016 conference dinner, we have a special treat for you. A short stroll across the Goodwill Bridge to South Bank, we will be hosted by Wandering Cooks and their stellar selection of gourmet food trucks. There will be indoor and outdoor benches for seating, a bar, and bonfires for barbecuing marshmallows for dessert. Do bring a jacket.
Via Victoria Bridge
- Exit QUT Gardens point towards George Street
- Continue along George Street for 550 metres
- Turn Left onto Queen Street
- Cross the river via Victoria Bridge
- Continue past the Busway until you reach Grey Street
- Turn right on Grey Street, continue for 20 metres
- Turn left onto Fish Lane. Continue for 50 metres
- Wandering Cooks will be on the right.
Via the Goodwill Bridge
This pedestrian walkway is located at the southern-point of the campus. Please click here for a campus map.
- Cross over the river via the Goodwill Bridge
- Continue straight ahead up Sidon Street for 120m until you reach Grey Street
- Turn Right onto Grey Street and continue for 600 metres
- Turn left onto Glenelg Street and continue for 200 metres
- Turn right towards Merivale St and continue for 350 metres
- Turn left onto Fish Lane
- Wandering Cooks will be on the right.
Bus
- Exit QUT Gardens Point towards George Street
- Turn Right onto Alice Street
- Walk 200 metres to Alice Street Stop 95A
- Catch bus number 202 to the Cultural Centre Station, Platform 2, South Brisbane
- Exit the bus station towards Grey Street
- Turn right on Grey Street, continue for 20 metres
- Turn left onto Fish Lane. Continue for 50 metres
- Wandering Cooks will be on the right.
